German court issued a sentence of three and a half years against the president of Bayern Munich football team, former international player, Uli Hoeness.
The prosecution had demanded Hoeness jailed for five years on charges of fraud and tax evasion.
The prosecution's argument that the confession of guilt Hoeness was not enough to benefit from the amnesty provided for by German law and that set up to encourage evaders to rectify their tax.
The Hoeness has admitted in court that evade taxes payable amounting to 18 million euros (25 million dollars).
Prosecutors had accused Hoeness tax evasion worth less worth 3.5 million euros, and called for his imprisonment.
